CAROLINA DAYLILIES... Columbia, Lexington, & South Carolina Daylilies

Tom Bruce's Carolina Daylilies, 645 Barr Rd., Lexington, SC 29072 | (803) 356-4733

Greetings from Tom Bruce ...

Tom Bruce

Thank you for your interest in our Sales and Display Garden located in Lexington (near Columbia), South Carolina.  Our plants are for sale only during our annual open house dates or by appointment on weekends during the bloom season from mid May until July 1st.   Please note that we are not at this time a mail order nursery.

In 2010, we will be open only from 8:00 until 3:00 on May 29th, June 5th and June 12th.  Our display and sales garden features large well -manicured perennial garden beds with daylilies in all price ranges.  Our most popular sellers are also available in pots.  Our garden was recently featured on the Lexington Master Gardener tour and we get repeat visitors each year since 40% of the beds contain new daylilies not offered for sales in previous years.  Many newer plants are moved every year from our hybridizing beds to the sales garden and offered at prices well below their national average price.

When visiting, our air conditioned garden building with its wide covered porch provides a welcome break from the sunny garden.  Restroom facilities are available.  The long paved driveway connects Barr Road to our large parking area with ample room for tour buses.  Please call ahead to arrange a weekend tour and to be sure we have adequate staff to dig your group’s orders.

Next to our display and sales garden are our hybridizing pavilion and seedling beds.  Plants in this area are not available for sale but you can tour the thousands of plants blooming for the first time or the select group of seedlings under final evaluation for possible future introduction and sale.

Can’t wait until May or June to see the garden?   Be sure to take a look at the many garden pictures contained in the Photo Galleries located on this site.

How To Place Your Seed Order

To purchase daylily seeds please Email Tom Bruce your order including the "seed package number" and quantities.

Storage and Handling...

Carolina Daylilies’ seeds are immediately refrigerated in plastic zip-lock bags after harvesting.  At every step of the way questionable seeds are discarded providing you with seeds of the highest quality.  Using this process, our own personal germination rate has been 88-90%.  To further ensure your success every five and ten pack includes bonus seeds.  When you receive your order you should refrigerate your seeds until you are ready to plant them.

Parentage...

Please note that the pollen parent is listed first on the enclosed seed list.

Sprouted Seeds...

From time to time seeds sprout in storage.  We have allowed you to check on the order form if you prefer sprouts, which with proper care produce a higher rate of success.  Sprouted seeds need to be planted soon after they are received.  Take special care not to damage the white tip when planting.  Carefully plant the sprouted seed in a small hole made with a pencil or other small pointed object.

Pricing/Ordering:

We have no minimum order.  You may order one 5-pack, but your best bargains are the 10-packs.  Additionally, on orders of $50.00 or more, we pay all shipping charges.  We do not sell single seeds; we sell only in multiples of 5 seeds per cross.  South Carolina residents add 5% sales tax to orders.

International Orders:

We welcome inquiries concerning international orders. Orders over $150.00 are shipped free worldwide. Shipping charges for orders under $150.00 is $20.00.  Payment must be in U.S. Funds & drawn on a U.S. bank. We also accept Canadian Postal Money Orders made payable in US Funds or PAYPAL.  Please do not send payment before confirming availability of order by email correspondence.

Substitutes

Packages listed in the enclosed price list are sold on a first-come basis.  If you allow us to substitute for a sold out package, we will ship seeds of equal or greater value from the list you provide.  If you do not allow for substitutions, we will refund your money for any sold out packag
